Your tasks stay on your Mac.
Nook is built as a local-first macOS app. Your lists, tasks, notes, Markdown content, folders, and settings are stored on your device. We do not run a cloud sync service for your task data.
What Nook Stores
Nook stores the data you create in the app, including lists, tasks, connected items, notes, folders, preferences, and local app state. This data is stored locally on your Mac.
What We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect the contents of your tasks or notes.
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not use your task data for advertising.
- We do not train AI models on your task data.
License and Payment Data
If you buy or activate Nook, payment and license handling may be processed by a third-party provider. Nook only uses that information to confirm your license status. Your task content is not sent as part of license activation.
Local Security
Because your task data stays on your device, access to it depends on the security of your Mac account and local files. Keep your Mac updated, use a strong password, and enable disk encryption where appropriate.
Changes
If Nook adds cloud sync, accounts, analytics, or other networked features in the future, this policy will be updated before those features are used for your data.
